 Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic candidates to join our Pastoral team.

As a Pastoral Student Supervisor, you will ensure the school life is running smoothly by supporting and supervising students within the school or during school outings.

You will apply the school's values and rules in relation to students behaviour, safety, attendance, performance and concerns in order to enhance student wellbeing and learning experience.

The role requires you to demonstrate good organisational and strong communication skills to effectively engage with students and parents.

This is a part-time TTO fixed-term contract which entails 35-40 hours. The hourly rate is £13.15 gross (i.e £14.86 including holiday pay), which derives from a full-time equivalent salary of £27,352 gross per annum.

Working during Term Time Only (TTO) means that there is no work during student breaks. The term dates are published on our website.

In addition to the TTO contract, we also offer optional work during our holiday camps, one week in October and another week in May. If you are also interested in working extra hours, please let us know during your interview with us or in your letter of motivation.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise students during non-classroom hours, e.g. playgrounds, corridors, toilets, cafeteria, detention hours, exams, etc.
  • Accompany students on school trips
  • Manage student behaviour and conflicts by applying the school's code of conduct and using CPOMS
  • Monitor students arrivals and departures from the school premises, tracking absences and keeping the attendance records through an app
  • Build and maintain effective communication and outstanding relationships with parents by email, phone and a communication software
  • Report incidents or concerns in a prompt and accurate manner through an app, in collaboration with the other teams of the school
  • Provide first aid care when required
  • Undertake occasional administrative duties
  • Fulfill any additional duties as requested

Education & experience

  • Previous experience in education or child care sectors desirable
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, including written communication
  • IT proficiency (Google suite, etc.)
  • Ability to manage conflicts
  • Ability to strike balance between discipline and support
  • Strong knowledge of what safeguarding & child protection entails
  • Team player
  • Flexibility and accountability
  • Ability to deal appropriately with sensitive or confidential information
  • Calm and patient under pressure + ability to adapt/react effectively to any circumstances
  • Speaking French is a plus
