Work permit:

As this is a part-time fixed term role (maternity cover), the successful candidate must already have the right to work in the UK.

Overview of role:

The role is for one year but the end date can vary due to the nature of the cover (maternity).

This is a role for a native-level English speaker, which entails:

  • Between 10 and 15 teaching periods/week
  • 3 hours/week: support to students or class cover including exam invigilation
  • Time for PPA, corrections, collaborative work and meetings

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Teach Mathematics in English to students of Y7, Y8, Y9 and Y10 levels
  • Organise and collaborate on departmental events
  • Prepare, coordinate and plan the curriculum with the team
  • Assess students formatively and summatively
  • Commit to the integration of technology into the curriculum
  • Organise and manage classroom, which promotes student-centred learning
  • Provide meaningful assignments and constructive feedback to students
  • Write schemes of work and Year plan to ensure the curriculum is met and aligned with LIL’s standards
  • Incorporate the mission and values of the school into the classroom
  • Maintain up-to-date records of assessment, attendance, planning, reports, and communication with families
  • Participate in parents-teachers meetings and class meetings

  • QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree
  • At least 3 years of previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience in the IGCSE highly desirable
  • Interest in curriculum development
  • Experience with inquiry and concept-based teaching and learning
  • Ability to create and deliver engaging, challenging and fun learning experiences for students with a provision for differentiation
  • Use of new technologies
  • A passion for education and making a difference

Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill is an independent school in Wembley offering in the Secondary section two tracks: the French curriculum and the English International Program leading to the IB Diploma programme in Y12 and Y13.
