Overview of role

All our teachers teach in their native language. This is a Science teacher role for a native-level English speaker with teaching experience in IBDP or equivalent (A-level). A full-time teaching role is 20 periods/week contact time + 3 hours support to students/class cover. The remaining time is for PPA, collaboration and meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach IBDP Chemistry (Year 12 and Year 13) : experience teaching IBDP or A-Level would be appreciated
  • Prepare students for iGCSE (Year 10 and Year 11)
  • Teach combined Science (Year 7, Year 8 or Year 9)
  • Create and deliver original and engaging activities for students with a provision for differentiation
  • Support students in extracurricular activities: EPQ, preparation for university entrance exams, etc.
  • Incorporate the mission and values of the school into every class
  • Model and create an environment which fosters critical thinking
  • Use long and short range planning to ensure that the curriculum is met and aligned with school standards
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence
  • Provide meaningful assignments and feedback to students
  • Analyse student assessment results to help inform instruction
  • Maintain up-to-date records of assessment, attendance, planning, reports and communication with parents/guardians on school system
  • Strong organisational and class management skills that promote student-centered learning and positive discipline
  • Participate in up to three “conseil de classe” (student progress meetings) per year
  • Any ad-hoc tasks requested by management

What we are looking for

  • QTS/PGCE (or equivalent) 
  • IB certified and experience preferred
  • Experience of the Science IGCSE desirable
